两者均应在ClearCase快照视图引用一个文件中使用with ClearCase SCM Adapter that is included in Rational Application Developer and the optionally installable ClearCase Remote Client Extension：
- 签出：准备要被修改（并且没有其他人可以检入前，同样的文件签出文件是签入的，在一个reserved checkout的情况下）
- 劫持：the file is not checked out, and yet it is made writable（通过OS命令：chmod或Windows文件属性）
的劫持文件的需求：
- 要么是checked out (to keep the local modification) and then checked in，
- 或canceled（局部修改都将丢失，并且该文件是只读一次）
